| Courtesy to your Tuner Booking: Book carefully. Do not book a tuning right ahead of a big appointment. This will allow me the time to give you the best tuning possible. I will call you if I will be more than 15 minutes late. Please be understanding. In virtually ALL mobile services, a problem with a previous customer can cause me to run behind. I WILL call you if it looks inevitable that I will be delayed. If you have to cancel a booking, please do so as soon as you find out you have a conflict. Even the night before is too late for me to schedule someone else in your time slot, so try to get a friend or family member to be in the home if possible. Cancelled appointments cost ME money! "No shows" will be charged a "trip charge" of $35.00. I will attempt to book your next appointment before I leave. I understand that you don't know exactly what you will be doing in six months (or even a year) from now. But this gives you a priority time on my schedule. I am usually booked a month to 6 weeks in advance and work 8 to 10 hours per day. I will send you a reminder card a month prior to your appointment (much like your dentist) and we can adjust your appointment easily at that time.
I understand that some of you haven't tuned your piano in many years. Tell me! Accurate information allows me to schedule the proper amount of time to do the job correctly. If it's been over a year I may have to do a "pitch raise" and this takes extra time. Please keep the house quiet while I am tuning. It really doesn't bother me when you talk, but any music or humming sounds (human or mechanical) interfere with my ability to give your instrument the best possible tuning. The human speaking voice is not very musical and interferes very little with the tuning. But even the lowest level humming will make a fine tuning nearly impossible! Please ask your happy children not to hum or sing. Please don't mow the lawn or tune your truck. Please do turn off the ceiling fans, the washer, the dryer and of course, the TV and the radio.
